Tire Society Distinguished Awards

To further the Tire Society’s goals of increasing and disseminating knowledge of the science and technology of tires, the Society has established two awards for lifetime contributions.

The Distinguished Achievement Award
The Distinguished Service Award

The Nomination Committee is asking you to propose candidates for these awards. Candidates may be living or dead and do not need to currently be active members of the Society.

The Proposal Form below allows you to provide details about the candidate, including a summary of the candidate’s contributions. The individual proposing a candidate must be a Society member, but the form may list additional co-sponsors who need not be Society members.

These awards are intended to recognize lifetime contributions. The awards are typically given on a biennial basis and include an honorarium, a plaque, recognition in Tire Society publications, honorary lifetime membership in the Society, and an invitation to speak at the Tire Society Conference. Selection involves a formal nomination and review process.

This award recognizes an individual who has made a substantial contribution to the science and technology of tires.

Qualifications for Tire Society Distinguished Achievement Award

This award recognizes an individual who has significantly advanced the Tire Society through their contributions of time and talents.

Proposals will be reviewed by the Tire Society's Nomination Committee, and if a candidate is selected for nomination, the Committee will work with the proposer to prepare a nomination package, including a cover letter, letters of support, and a resume/CV including relevant publications, patents, and other supporting activity.

Nominations will be reviewed by a separate selection committee that will determine the recipient(s) of the award(s). If no candidates are selected, the process will be deferred for two years.
